Position Overview
The Commercial Loan Documentation Supervisor serves as both a working supervisor and subject matter expert, overseeing the preparation, review, and quality control of commercial loan documentation. This role provides leadership and coaching to a documentation team while actively supporting the processing of complex commercial lending transactions.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in commercial loan documentation, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for developing people and improving processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support daily operations within the commercial loan documentation function.
- Review and approve commercial loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Oversee quality control reviews and ensure service level expectations are achieved.
- Serve as an escalation point for documentation, compliance, and closing-related questions.
- Partner with internal teams, outside counsel, and external stakeholders to facilitate timely and compliant loan closings.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members through training and performance management.
- Monitor workflow, productivity, and quality metrics while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of procedures, documentation standards, and operational best practices.
- Maintain individual production responsibilities while supporting team success.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- 7+ years of experience in commercial loan documentation, commercial lending operations, commercial real estate transactions, legal support, or related financial services functions.
- Strong understanding of commercial lending documentation, lending regulations, collateral requirements, and loan structures.
- Experience reviewing complex loan documents and supporting commercial loan closings.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and commercial lending systems.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience.
- SBA lending experience.
- Experience with Sageworks or similar lending platforms.

Compensation: $70,000 to $80,000 DOE Plus excellent Benefits
